Face Fit Training (3 Hours)

Face fit training gives candidates the skills to be able to properly check, fit and wear a face mask so that it offers maximum protection from dust, airborne toxins and other dangerous substances.

Employers have a legal responsibilities to control substances hazardous to health in the workplace, and to prevent and adequately control their employees’ exposure to those substances. Provision of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) may be necessary as part of this control regime. The HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) specifies that anyone using RPE must be trained on how to use it properly to protect themselves.

Aven Trainers

We only use trainers who have themselves been trained to deliver this course. They use a practical approach for candidates to follow and back this up with explanations on why it is important to use the equipment correctly.

 Who Should Attend and Where?

The Face Fit course should be attended by those who work in a role where it is normal practice to use RPE. In particular anyone working under regulations associated with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) and Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR).

We can deliver our training programme at your place of work or at one of our centres in Leeds or Huddersfield. Training is normally carried out for between 6 and 10 candidates at anyone time.

Please note that facial hair needs to be removed before the training to ensure that an adequate seal is made around the mask.
