Nigel Chilvers BA (Hons) MSc PGCE QTLS MCIAT MIWFM
Nigel has a passion for excellence in his approach to teaching and learning across the construction industry. Besides his role as managing director, he often delivers training programmes across the construction sector which include lecturing in facilities management, space planning, and asbestos awareness as well as many other subjects.
Nigel’s career spans many years working in a diverse range of subjects including building design, construction and facilities management.
His career started in 1982, having obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Architecture and subsequently he worked as a qualified Architectural Technologist for many years. Following this, Nigel retrained and worked as a Lecturer in Building Design & Construction for over 12 years.
During this time, Nigel became heavily involved in Facilities Management and undertook a Master’s Degree which he achieved with distinction. He has since developed a number of courses, including a Foundation Degree in Facilities Management, a Maintenance Management Diploma for prison estates staff as well as forming part of the team which developed Higher Level Apprenticeships in Facilities Management. He currently works closely with the Institute for Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) in developing new training material.
As previously mentioned, he has taught in many areas of construction and the Built Environment including both further and Higher Education levels. Indeed, during his teaching career he has inspired many students and received immense praise and excellence for his work. This culminated in being awarded a Highly Commended Tutor of the Year Award in 2011.
As a founding member of the partnership, Nigel brings a vast wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that the quality of the teaching and assessing programs are delivered to the highest possible standard.
